Day 1 – Depart USA
Your overnight flight will whisk you across the Atlantic to the beautiful city of London.
Day 2 – Arrive London
Welcome to London, a leading global city with strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, and tourism. After clearing customs and gathering your luggage you'll meet your transfer in the Arrivals Hall. There is some free time before meeting your Tour Director and fellow tour members for a Welcome Drink this evening.
Day 3 – London, Bath, Bristol
This morning, visit Kew Gardens, London’s only 300-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the seasons and explore the glasshouses, landscapes, and 250 years of history at the world’s most famous garden. Before reaching Bristol, stop in Bath with its Abbey, Georgian streets, and crescents. Enjoy an orientation tour and visit the Roman Baths and Pump Room. A group dinner is included at your hotel in Bristol this evening. Meals: Breakfast / Dinner
Day 4 – Bristol, Winchombe, Chipping Campden
A full day excursion brings you to Winchcombe (valley with a bend) with everything you would expect from fine old fashioned shops, pubs, and restaurants to a mixture of stone and half-timbered cottages. Visit Sudeley Gardens, lovingly restored and redesigned to complement the elegance and tranquility of the castle and its ruins, as well as to echo through the ages and recreate the beauty of the gardens which have grown here in years gone by. Later, travel to Chipping Campden, an ancient town nestled in the tranquil and beautiful countryside. Visit Hidcote Manor Garden, a famous Arts and Crafts garden made by Lawrence Johnston in the early 1900s. Yew, holly, and beech hedges are used to define a series of garden rooms. Relax for afternoon tea before returning to Bristol for your overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast / Afternoon Tea
Day 5 – Bristol, Warminster, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Working, Forest Row
Leave Bristol today to visit Stourhead Gardens in Warminster – home of a Palladian mansion and world-famous landscape garden. Later, see Salisbury Cathedral where pilgrims have come to seek inspiration for over 750 years. See also the awe-inspiring Stonehenge, its true meaning lost in the mists of time. Before reaching your overnight stop in Forest Row, visit Wisley Gardens in Working. This flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society captures the imagination with richly planted borders, luscious rose gardens, and the state-of-the-art Glasshouse. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening. Meals: Breakfast / Dinner
Day 6 – Forest Row, Rye, Uckfield
Your excursion today brings you to visit Rye and the Great Dixter Gardens. Great Dixter was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd. It is now a historic house, a garden, a center of education, and a place of pilgrimage for horticulturists from across the world. Also visit Sheffield Park Gardens in Uckfield. This magnificent landscape garden was laid out in the 18th century by ‘Capability’ Brown and further developed in the early years of the 20th century by its owner, Arthur G. Soames. There are dramatic shows of daffodils and bluebells in the Spring. Return to Forest Row this evening for your overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Day 7 – Forest Row, Sissinghurst, Maidstone, London
Before returning to London today, visit Sissinghurst Castle Garden which gained international fame in the 1930s when Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson created it. The garden is a riot of color throughout the year – divided into small garden rooms, each very distinctive from the others. Next, visit one of Britain’s most distinguishable heritage sites – Leeds Castle. Sprawled out over 500 acres of land, a trip to this royal 12th century gem is an essential stop for anyone wishing to truly understand Britain’s venerable history. Reaching London, enjoy a sightseeing tour which will show you Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. Meals: Breakfast
Day 8 – London
Complete your journey today with a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show! The Chelsea Flower Show has been the world’s leading horticultural event since the first show in 1913 when gardeners from the large private estates created brilliant displays. Today, you will be able to marvel at an international collection of magnificent blooms and perfect specimen trees alongside an astonishing range of exhibition gardens. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner this evening. Meals: Breakfast / Dinner
Day 9 – Depart London
Bid farewell to England today as you are transported to the airport to meet your flight home. Meals: Breakfast
