McKinley. Meals: Dinner
Day 3 – Denali
Enjoy breakfast at the Mountain View Restaurant before taking the motorcoach to Denali, Alaska. Part of the allure of Denali National Park is that you never know what you might see. Music of Denali Dinner Theater is included with your trip. Join us for a night of rousing laughter, dancing, singing, and a look at life in the good ole' days. You'll relive a bit of history, including the exciting tale of the first men to conquer Denali, known as “The Great One.” You'll love endless portions of smokehouse rib tips, tender wild Alaskan salmon, edamame succotash, mashed red potatoes, alder smoked vinaigrette salad, and homemade apple crisp with fresh whipped cream for dessert. Day 4 – Denali
The north side of Denali National Park & Preserve is where most travelers experience the park on their Alaska vacation. A single, 92-mile road offers the only access through this national park. In summer, visitors can drive personal vehicles as far as the Savage River at Mile 15. Travel beyond is mostly limited to tour and shuttle buses, bicycles, and hikers on foot. Deep in the Alaskan interior is over six million acres of preserved wilderness that includes massive expanses of forest, glacial lakes, frozen tundra, and towering mountains – including North America’s tallest mountain, Mt. McKinley. Originally established as Mount McKinley National Park in 1917, the park’s boundaries have pushed outward to include Denali National Monument and Denali Preserve. Meals: Breakfast
Day 5 – Whittier
You'll be traveling by motorcoach to the rail depot where you'll then enjoy a relaxing train ride from Denali to Whittier. Whittier is nestled at the head of the Passage Canal on the western edge of Prince William Sound; Whittier welcomes a numbers of cruise ships each summer. While there may be less than 500 year-round residents, this town is still one of Alaska’s most important cities. Established during World War II as a military supply port, today Whittier’s economy is comprised mainly of shipping and port related jobs, fishing, and tourism.
Day 6 – Hubbard Glacier
Board the Island Princess to begin the sea part of your journey. Today, we'll cruise through Hubbard Glacier, North America’s largest tidewater glacier. You'll stand in awe at the size of this mighty glacier; it is 76 miles long, 7 miles wide, and 600 feet tall. Meals: All meals onboard
