Day 1 – Montreal
Your tour begins in the second largest French-speaking city in the world, Montreal.
Day 2 – Montreal
Flavors of Montreal – begin with lunch at a popular restaurant, located in the heart of the Old Section of Montreal. Then, join a local expert for a walking tour to explore the culinary, cultural and historic charms in the oldest district of Montreal. Experience visits to specialty food boutiques and local markets, where you will have the opportunity to sample local delicacies. As you walk through the charming, narrow cobblestone streets, learn of Amerindians influence of regional cuisine, as well as the history behind some of the exotic food brought to the city during the World Expo. This is a unique and tasty way to learn more about the city’s rich culinary heritage. Please Note: This option takes place along cobblestone streets which can sometimes be uneven. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. You will also enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour of Montreal highlighting Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University plus enjoy views of Notre Dame Cathedral and St. Joseph’s Oratory. Your city tour concludes with a stop high atop Mount Royal from which the surrounding view is spectacular. Ascended by Jacques Cartier in 1535, Mount Royal is the jewel of Mount Royal Park. The afternoon is yours to explore the city’s famous underground shopping. This evening you will be treated to dinner in one of the restaurants for which this renowned city is famous, capping off a wonderfully memorable day. Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Day 3 – Quebec City
This morning depart for Quebec City. Later today, experience the beauty and history of both Old and New Quebec with a fascinating sightseeing tour of the city. See the stately Chateau Frontenac, the Parliament, the St. Louis Gate (the Porte St. Louis), and Place Royale, the site of the original settlement of the city of Quebec. Sample Quebec City’s best dining experiences – all in a single evening! Think of it as a grand epicurean tour with each course in a different, unforgettable restaurant. Meals: Breakfast/Dinner
Day 4 – Quebec City
This morning enjoy breakfast at a local sugar shack nestled in the Quebec countryside. Learn about the traditions of maple syrup making and enjoy sampling many delicious traditional foods made with local maple syrup. Before leaving, try a favorite regional treat - maple taffy in the snow. Enjoy lunch at a popular restaurant in the heart of the old section of Quebec. Then, board your motorcoach for a drive out to view where the Montmorency River plunges 272 feet off the Canadian Shield. The waterfall is an awe-inspiring 83 m., a full one and one half times higher than Niagara Falls. You can admire stunning views from the many lookout points throughout the site. Leave the falls behind to visit the Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre. Upon arrival, you will be given a handheld audio device that will guide you through the rich history and magnificent architecture of one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in North America. Take time to explore the beautiful grounds before departing to visit the Albert Gilles Copper Museum to learn about the art of copper as well as enjoy a demonstration on the detailed work involved in each creation. Day 5 – Ottawa
This morning, depart for Ottawa - the beautiful and cosmopolitan capital city of Canada. Later, savor the flavor of a local specialty – a beavertail – while you enjoy a stroll through the Byward Market, known for its fruits, vegetables, flowers, and arts and crafts. Next, embark on a city tour showcasing the Rideau Canal (in winter the world’s largest skating rink) and the Supreme Court buildings. This evening, it’s Diner’s Choice…tonight your dinner is included, and you’ll choose the perfect spot from a “menu” of Ottawa’s great restaurants. Meals: Breakfast/Dinner
Day 6 – Kingston and Toronto
A short drive takes you to Kingston, gateway to one of the world’s most beautiful areas. Enjoy a memorable cruise through the unspoiled region of Lake Ontario and the spectacular 1,000 Islands. Later this afternoon, arrive in the exciting city of Toronto. Enjoy the most breathtaking sightseeing in the city – Toronto from the water – as you cruise along the bustling harbour of Toronto, on Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes. From your boat you’re afforded with views of Toronto's breathtaking skyline as you listen to interesting facts about the harbourfront. What a great way to enjoy spectacular scenery than sailing through the islands. The Toronto Islands, made up of a number of islands, enclose the harbor with their beauty and are sanctuaries for wildlife. Later, enjoy dinner at a popular restaurant in the heart of the city. Day 7 – Niagara Falls and Toronto
This morning visit Niagara on the Lake to enjoy the local shops and the charming atmosphere. Next, travel to the thundering and awe-inspiring Niagara Falls where breathtaking views remind you of the power of Mother Nature. Of course, a visit to Niagara Falls would not be complete without experiencing the incredible cruise at the base of the falls. Board the boat to see and feel the falls up-close. Don’t forget to bring a camera! Meals: Breakfast/Dinner
Day 8 – Toronto
