Downtown Bling: Kimpton Hotel Receives AAA Honors
Phoenix, Jan. 18, 2013. One of the newest hotels in downtown Phoenix is shining brighter, thanks to AAA. The auto club, which serves as the largest leisure travel agency in North America, recently bestowed Hotel Palomar Phoenix, a Kimpton Hotel, with its prestigious Four Diamond Award.
“Hotel Palomar Phoenix is committed to providing every guest with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high quality surroundings,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “This property exceeded the expectations of the most discriminating traveler – the AAA inspector.”
Hotel Palomar Phoenix, a Kimpton Hotel, is the third downtown Phoenix hotel to earn the coveted Four Diamond travel rating in the last four years after an anonymous visit and inspection by AAA. With the addition of Hotel Palomar Phoenix, there are now 43 lodging properties in Arizona that boast the Four Diamond rating, including eight establishments in Phoenix.
“The achievement of a Four Diamond rating so soon after opening is a simply an honor,” said Jim Hollister, general manager at Hotel Palomar Phoenix. “Every single team member is dedicated to quality service and strives to ensure each stay is both memorable and enjoyable for our guests. This designation is a true testament to that and I could not be any more proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short amount of time.”
AAA has been inspecting and approving lodgings for 75 years. The Diamond Rating system is the only system that covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is also one of only two that conducts physical, on-site evaluations by anonymous inspectors. On average, AAA inspectors evaluate nearly 900 hotels and restaurants per year in Arizona. This contributes to the evaluation of more than 58,000 establishments annually nationwide.
