AAA Honored by Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association

Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 8, 2012. AAA Arizona was recently honored by the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association during its 8th annual Tourism Unity Dinner at The Phoenician resort. The club was recognized for setting the standard in providing reliable information to the traveling public for nearly 85 years.

Each spring, the Tourism Unity Dinner celebrates the accomplishments of Arizona’s second largest industry and recognizes a particular entity that contributes to furthering the successes of Arizona tourism. “Each year, the tourism industry highlights one specific entity or organization that helps to positively impact and shape Arizona’s visitor experience,” said Debbie Johnson, president and CEO of the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association. “It was exciting to honor one of our state’s most valued organizations, AAA Arizona, for the many ways they contribute to Arizona tourism.”

Nearly 400 attendees, including Gov. Jan Brewer, gathered at The Phoenician, a AAA Five Diamond resort, for this year’s event to honor AAA Arizona for its efforts to attract visitors and raise the state’s profile as a premier destination.

“AAA Arizona is proud to have provided travel expertise including reliable maps, TourBooks®, driving directions, travel information, and hotel inspections and reservations since 1927,” said Mike Tully, president and CEO of AAA Arizona. “On behalf of our state’s 825,000 members, we are extremely honored to be recognized by the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association with this award.”
