Annual walk makes wishes come true for Arizona kids

Phoenix, Feb. 22, 2013. At Make-A-Wish® Arizona, the average cost of a child’s wish is $7,500. However, the impact after that wish is granted is immeasurable.

That impact is why Make-A-Wish® Arizona will host its annual Walk for Wishes on Sunday, March 10 at Tempe Marketplace. This year’s event, sponsored by AAA Arizona, aims to raise more than $150,000 toward the granting of new wishes.

“At Make-A-Wish Arizona, we know that a wish can bring hope, strength and joy to each of our wish kids, as well as their families,” said Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “This 2013 Walk for Wishes will help our organization reach the more than 450 kids we currently having waiting to see their wish fulfilled, as well as the more than 500 children annually who become eligible for wishes.”

“Serving the community, especially families that are braving grave childhood illness, is a critical component of AAA Arizona’s culture,” said Mike Tully, president and CEO of AAA Arizona “AAA Arizona is proud to sponsor this year’s walk and help raise funds that will help wishes come true for Arizona children.”

AAA Arizona is offering a special incentive to help Make-A-Wish® Arizona reach its fundraising goal. Through March 31, the auto club will waive its $15 enrollment fee for new members and donate that amount to help Make-A-Wish® Arizona. For more information, visit
