AAA Arizona Walks Like MADD to Prevent Drunk Driving

Phoenix, March 1, 2013. Car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, and about one-third of those are alcohol related. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has a mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

As a leader in driver safety, AAA Arizona is supporting the organization’s 2013 WALK like MADD event at the Phoenix Zoo Saturday, March 16. The event aims to raise more than $100,000 toward the prevention of drunk driving.

“Making roads safer for everyone is at the core of AAA’s values,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “AAA Arizona is proud to sponsor this walk for the fourth year in a row, and help raise funds that will raise awareness of MADD’s programs and help keep our community safe.”

AAA Arizona is offering a special incentive to help MADD Arizona reach its fundraising goal. Through March 31, the auto club will waive its $15 enrollment fee for new members and donate that amount to help MADD Arizona. Visit, or call 1-800-Join-AAA and use promo code MADD.
