Pump Prices Fall-la-la-la-lalling Once Again

Phoenix, Dec. 19, 2013. Lower pump prices are helping make motorists’ spirits bright across the state and country. Arizona’s statewide average dropped 1.5 cents this week to $3.137 per gallon, which is great news as more than 1.7 million Arizonans prepare to hit the road for the year-end holidays. The nationwide average shed more than 4 cents to $3.212.

“Resolved production concerns in the Gulf Coast and limited seasonal demand have both contributed to falling prices,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “Arizona prices are on par with last year, and we anticipate prices will continue to trickle down through the end of the year, barring unforeseen circumstances.”

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.047 and $3.341 per gallon, respectively. Missouri and Connecticut hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $2.874 and $3.669 per gallon, respectively.
