June Pump Prices Remain Sluggish

Prices in Arizona rose, still 15 cents below national average

Phoenix, June 13, 2013. This week, drivers around the nation saw little movement in pump prices. Arizona’s average is up 2 cents to $3.481 per gallon. Nationally, prices edged up a fraction this week to $3.632 per gallon.

“AAA continues to expect lower prices as June continues,” said Linda Gorman director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “Prices should drop below a national average of $3.50 per gallon by the end of the month if refineries, particularly those in the Great Lakes, can transition smoothly from ongoing maintenance to full production.”

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.256 and $3.682 per gallon, respectively. South Carolina and Illinois hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $3.244 and $4.179 per gallon, respectively.
