It’s Pump Day: Arizona’s Prices Climb for Holiday

Phoenix, Nov. 28, 2013. Guess what day it is? Anybody? It’s PUMP DAY! And while gas prices are skewing upward this week, there’s still much to be thankful for, as pump prices are at their lowest since 2010. The average price for a gallon of gas in Arizona average rose 1.8 cents to $3.153, while the national average jumped 7.5 cents to $3.287 per gallon.

“Rising retail prices can be attributed to an uptick in demand as well as refinery issues in the Gulf Coast region,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “This pre-holiday price surge should be short-lived as refinery issues are resolved.”

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.068 and $3.381 per gallon, respectively. Missouri and Connecticut hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $2.985 and $3.646 per gallon, respectively.
