Fuel Prices Fall-la-la-la-ling into December

Phoenix, Nov. 29, 2012. As Arizona enters its fifth week of declines in pump prices, the national average is also moving lower. This week, the statewide average dropped 5.6 cents to $3.382 per gallon, while nationwide prices slipped more than 2 cents to $3.409 per gallon.

“After shedding more than a quarter in the last month, Arizona’s fuel average finally has dipped back below the national average and is now among the 20 lowest fuel averages in the country,” said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. “This is a trend we anticipate seeing through the end of the year, barring unforeseen circumstances.”

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.152 and $3.684 per gallon, respectively. Missouri and New York hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $3.139 and $3.888 per gallon, respectively.
