What is ADAS recalibration?
Many newer car models—2014 or later—come with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). This high-tech system uses cameras, sensors, and other components that alert drivers to hazards on the road to avoid accidents.
Windshields often have front-facing cameras connected to them. If cameras detect trouble, ADAS will issue a collision warning or lane-keeping assistance. The system will also use automatic braking if the vehicle is moving toward another auto too quickly. During windshield replacement, the technician needs to recalibrate these cameras so they continue to function properly.
