Disney Fantasy is Fun for Everyone
Though the Dream and Fantasy are physical twins, their itineraries differentiate these ships—the Dream handling the three and four-day trips to the Bahamas, the Fantasy handling the seven and eight-day journeys to the Caribbean. Both ships have 14 decks and 1,250 staterooms, and can accommodate 4,000 passengers and 1,450 cast and crew members.
The Fantasy and its extended sailings allow passengers to truly enjoy all the ship has to offer—and it offers quite a lot. The Fantasy has three main restaurants and two specialty restaurants: Remy, which features exquisite French cuisine, and Palo, an edible homage to Italy. Cabana’s features upscale, eclectic fare served buffet style (a good choice for breakfast). There’s also a row of quick-serve eateries where passengers can grab a quick cheeseburger, hot dog, wrap, etc., and an all-you-can-eat ice cream bar. Fountain drinks and coffee are available 24/7 on the main deck, and passengers can also enjoy room service 24 hours a day.
The Fantasy also contains the Buena Vista Theatre, a full-size movie house with 3D capabilities, as well as the Walt Disney Theater that hosts Broadway-style shows each night. There’s a fitness facility and full-service spa with special “teen spa” area. Teens can also enjoy their own space onboard in Vibe, a hip indoor/outdoor interactive “teen cave” that offers a variety of options for kids to make new friends, watch movies, soak, snack, or just chill. Grown-ups will enjoy the entire aft third, or tail, of the ship for themselves, with adults-only pools, coffee shops, bars, clubs, and more.
Families can bond at D Lounge, an entertainment center with family activities such as karaoke and game show-style entertainment. But perhaps the greatest place on the entire ship is the Oceaneer’s Club/Lab, a multi-station children’s activity respite where kids can really cut loose. While infants and toddlers are welcomed at the It’s A Small World Nursery, the bigger kids can explore a world of fun including Monster’s Academy, Disney’s Explorer Pod, the Media Room, the Animator’s Studio, the Wheelhouse, the Sound Studio, and the Craft Studio.
Disney’s Castaway Cay is without a doubt the best place at which the ship anchors. This multi-beach wonderland offers swimming, snorkeling, boating, diving, structured activities, and more—all set among the beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
