The luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train travels by daylight through the beauty of Canada's West and is the best way to experience the majestic Canadian Rockies and quaint villages like Banff and Jasper - nestled into in a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll experience the grand “castles” of the Rockies – Chateau Lake Louise, built at the end of the 19th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway and kin to its predecessor, the Banff Springs Hotel. The Canadian Rockies are nature’s grandest monuments. You’ll meander through them and visit the Columbia Ice Fields where you can actually walk on a glacier.

     $40 per person, per direction airport transfers (minimum four passengers per transfer)

Passport

U.S. citizens must have a valid passport, valid for at least 6 months after date of return to the U.S.A.  It is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure they have a valid machine-readable passport.

Weather and Dress

Daytime temperatures in the Rockies during September range from 66° F (average high) to 38° F (average low). In Vancouver, you’ll find temperatures between 66° F (high) to 50° (low).  And in Calgary, expect 63° to 36°.  It's advised to dress in layers for maximum comfort. You will want warm clothes, including gloves.

Physical requirements

This tour requires that all participants be able to get on/off the motor coach multiple times unassisted, and be on your feet walking for extended periods of time (at least 20 minutes).

Cancellation penalties

Cancel from time of booking/deposit through July 10, 2012, the $350 per person deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation on or after July 11, 2012, all payments are 100% non-refundable.  Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

Sunday, Sept. 2 – Travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Arrive in beautiful Vancouver. If you are eligible for the group transfer, you will be taken to your hotel, the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. If you are not eligible for the group transfer, see information above about the purchase of independent transfers.

Monday, Sept. 3 – Vancouver

Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel and a full day at leisure to see all that Vancouver has to offer. (B)

Tuesday, Sept. 4 – Vancouver to Kamloops, British Columbia

You’re up early to transfer to the train station where you’ll board the Rocky Mountaineer for a full day of scenic travel. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on the train. Tonight you will overnight in Kamloops, B.C. (B, L)

Wednesday, Sept. 5  – Kamloops to Jasper, Alberta

In the morning, you’ll be transferred to the train station. Enjoy another day on the Rocky Mountaineer, with breakfast and lunch on board.  You will overnight in Jasper, Alberta, Canada. (B, L)

Thursday, Sept. 6 – Jasper to Lake Louise

After your included breakfast at the hotel you’ll travel via deluxe motorcoach to Lake Louise. A magnificent tour of the Columbia Icefields via the Ice Explorer awaits you. Dinner this evening is in the elegant dining room at the hotel, Chateau Lake Louse, where you will overnight. (B, D)

Friday, Sept. 7 – Lake Louise to Banff

After your included breakfast at the hotel, enjoy  a full day of sightseeing, including Lake Louise, Banff, and the Yoho National Park. Dinner this evening is in the elegant dining room at the Banff Springs Hotel, where you will spend the night. (B,D)

Saturday, Sept. 8 - Banff

After your included breakfast at the hotel, you’re off for a half day of sightseeing in Banff, including a Banff Lake Cruise, and the Banff Gondola. The rest of the day is at leisure so you can explore on your own. You overnight at the Banff Springs Hotel. (B)

Sunday, Sept. 9 – Banff to Calgary

Enjoy another breakfast at your hotel before you set off for a half day of sightseeing from Banff to Calgary, where a city tour awaits you. (B)

Monday, Sept. 10 – Calgary, return home

After breakfast, transfer as a group to the Calgary Airport for your flight home. (B)
